Hebron Sunday School is held weekly (Sept–June) at 10.30am. The children attending range from age 3 to 15, with older young people attending Junior and Senior Bible Classes. We commence with chorus singing before the children go to their classes. Currently we have 18 classes and 19 teachers,including two Ukrainian classes. In class, the children hear Bible stories and lessons and learn memory verses, and Bible doctrine from the Child’s and Westminster Catechisms. Our bus pickup service is available for those who require transport. Special events are arranged throughout the year including a Sunday School Camp, a Football Tournament, the Sunday School Social, Children’s Day, an Annual Outing, ‘Bring a Friend’ Sunday, and a ‘Meet the Parents’ Coffee Morning.

Bible Class
Young people need spiritual nourishment and to be established in the faith. Our Bible Class meets each Lord’s Day at 10.45am where we seek to give our youth sound Biblical instruction. Two ruling elders, Mervyn Storey and Philip Moffat, are responsible for this ministry. The class is an informal meeting which covers a vast variety of interesting subjects, including: Evangelism / Outreach, Biblical Character Studies, Church History (Past and Present), The Doctrines of Grace, The Articles of Faith, Church Membership, Baptism, The Lord’s Table, Creation, Redemption, Salvation, Heroes of the Faith, Practical Christianity, Living for God in a Lost World, and The Leading of the Lord in the life of the believer. The purpose of the Bible Class is to instruct and edify young believers into a deeper and greater understanding of things of God and to provide this Ministry in a relaxed, comfortable and friendly atmosphere.

Youth Fellowship
The Youth Fellowship at Hebron meets on most Friday nights from September to May. It caters for those from secondary school age to those in their mid-20’s. It’s a place where our young people can grow in their Christian faith through studying God’s Word together, dealing with subjects particularly relevant to their age-group. There are opportunities for all to take part and become confident in sharing their faith. Time is given to have fellowship and fun together, with food, games and trips. The New Hebron Hub with its excellent facilities has been a great asset and encouragement to our young people.

Youth Challenge
We call our children’s meetings, Youth Challenge. We want the upcoming generation to feel the challenge of the Gospel and what God requires of them in this life. Meetings are held on Tuesday nights for both primary and secondary school ages. Each week the boys and girls learn memory verses, sing choruses, and hear a Bible lesson which shares the good news of the gospel. Through the year we also enjoy special nights with Christian movies, pizza and games. We run summer events, including a Soccer Camp in June and a Holiday Bible Club in August. We believe it is vitally important to reach children with the gospel message, and it is our sincere aim to see every boy and girl come to know and trust Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. All are welcome!

Senior Fellowship
We have been running the Senior fellowship for 20 years, since our new Hebron building was opened. It’s a time of informal fellowship. Twice a month, on the first and third Tuesdays, they enjoy refreshments and conversation. I am helped by a small team of dedicated workers; a couple of other ladies who help provide and serve the food. After eating, we sing a few hymns together. My hubby (the pastor) will usually give a PowerPoint presentation, outlining some ministry in the church, bringing us up to speed with our missionary endeavour or some other interesting talk. The fellowship and friendship among our seniors is great. I highly recommend it!

Hebron Tots
Our Hebron Tots meet each Monday morning during term time from 10am – 12noon. This gives us a wonderful opportunity to engage with parents, carers and toddlers, with the prayer that this safe and friendly space is a blessing to all those who enter. Each week there is time for free play, craft and an activity, all themed around a Bible story that will be told to the children. We have a wonderful team of helpers who work diligently on the day and behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly. We thank God for this opportunity to serve Him and pray that it will bring glory to His name.

Sunbeams Pre-school
Our Sunbeams Pre-School runs each week (Mon to Wed), with up to 22 children, aged 3 and 4. I have a team of amazing helpers. During our 2-hour session the children have lots of free play, both indoor and outdoor. We follow the Pre-School Curriculum where each child is taught about the world around us and all they need to prepare for school (knowing how to use scissors, glue, paste, build, hold their pen, use a paintbrush & markers). They learn about nature, the seasons and nocturnal and hibernating animals! They can spell their name by the time they leave. Importantly, they are taught about Jesus every day. We sing, pray and learn God’s commandments. At Christmas, we have a Nativity Play. Parents and family members come to hear the children. In June we have Sports Day with parents and family attending. It is a total GIFT to be able to do God’s will with the children He loves. We know that His Word will not return to Him void.

Ladies Fellowship
Our Hebron Ladies Fellowship is a more recent ministry in the Church. It was decided to run meetings several times a year for the encouragement of our ladies. This gives them an opportunity to be together for fellowship in a setting strictly for ladies. Sometimes a special testimony will be given to help and strengthen those faced with the daily challenges of life. At other times a guest speaker will speak on a special subject that is relevant and applicable. There is usually a soloist or group to bring messages in song. At some of the meetings, a Bible Quiz proves to be very popular. The night finishes with supper and fellowship.

Music Ministry
Music and song are clearly woven through the Scriptures as a means of worship, praise and communication with God. Psalm 100 encourages us to ‘make a joyful noise unto the Lord’ and to ‘come before His Presence with singing.’ The Hebron congregation have always loved to sing and music and singing form an integral part of every service. We currently have three organists: Elaine, Melanie and myself, along with our church pianist, Dianne. The Hebron Choir plays a vital role in the music ministry of the church. Since 2006, I have been blessed to lead this choir and serve the Lord in this way. We currently have a 34 mixed voice choir with each member committed to this ministry, and faithfully attending choir practice on a Tuesday night. Among the many different hymn arrangements and choir projects we’ve completed recently, the two Easter Cantatas stand out, both in their exaltation of the Risen Christ and in blessing to the choir and the congregation alike. Certainly, a highlight was the presentation of J.W. Peterson’s ‘No Greater Love’ to a full audience in the Great Hall in Stormont. What a blessing to hear‘But now is Christ Risen, Hallelujah’ resonate around that impressive building! May God continue to bless this ministry as we seek to serve Him through music.
